As part of Channel 4’s “Rise of the Robots” Series, this documentary followed the creation of a robot designed from the ground up with the core philosophies of movement established in the worlds of puppetry and animation. The aim of engaging with the general public as the robot was left out on Bristol streets.
Background
Using a fast iterative design process where assumptions were tested using prototypes and real-world field testing. From one hour cardboard and Lego proof-of-concepts to the final one-off, hand made robot. Utilising custom mechanisms, sensors and control systems. And all the audio and video equipment to get the robots point of view for the documentry.
