MekaMon is the worlds first AR Gaming Robot. A quadruped robot designed to be controlled from an App on a mobile phone and to battle other MekaMon in the real world or in cyberspace.
This also branched into the education market providing an entry point into coding with robots, using "Meka Code" the Apps scratch based programming environment.
Background
Responsible for designing the embedded firmware architecture of the code running on the robot, with a strong emphasis on character and movement. Running a complex kinematic engine that calculates all the joint angles required to create the fluid natural motion. Using data from an inertial measurement unit and joint feedback to give the robot a better understanding of its own body and its relationship to the environment around it. Using this proprioception to become compliant, adapt to terrain and detect objects/interactions.
